MAIN architects is an architectural studio created as a result of long-term friendship and professional cooperation between two founders Marko Matejić and Nikola Ivković. The two founding architects began their friendship while studying at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade. They completed their studies in 2009 under the supervision of Professor Branislav Mitrović, with whom they continued collaborating at MITarh studio for a year. Afterward, their professional careers developed in different ways in the following period.
Marko started his Ph.D. studies and worked at the Faculty of Architecture as a teaching assistant for the next three years. During that period and in the following years, in the period from 2010-2013, he also worked as a freelance architect focusing on smaller projects in Serbia, but also housing projects in the USA.
During his studies and after graduation, Nikola worked at the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Belgrade, for a total of 3 years, in the period 2007-2010. After that, he spent six years in PMC engineering, in the period 2010-2016.
